The trilogy Sky/Heaven, Tickets and Theater has been for me a longstanding fascination.
The human construction of the Sky/Heaven, the local philosophical Theater ideal to question this construction and the tickets ... well, the tickets making the bridge between one and the other, offering, ensuring, guaranteeing (?) access to both Sky/Heaven and the Theater.
The play «A Ticket to the Teatro do Céu» by Maria Estela Guedes, which I tried to honor by illustrating it, is inscribed precisely and not by chance in the center of this enchantment.
I wanted dramatic, theatrical and excessive illustrations for her, but I believe I have produced images that are mostly naive, perhaps a consequence of the difficulties of a return to the ways of the long-abandoned figurative, but also certainly of the confrontation with profound questions present in the text such as that put by Lili at Teatro do Céu (Sky Theater): «- And the Sky/Heaven, where is it?»
The question remains: - And where is the Sky/Heaven?
